Die Serie Limitless ist eine TV-Adaption des gleichnamigen Kinofilms, in dem der erfolglose Autor Brian Sinclair im Zentrum steht. Dank der experimentellen Droge NZT kann er sein volles Potential ausschöpfen und unsagbar erfolgreich werden. Dies bringt natürlich auch seine Schattenseiten mit sich. In der Serie, die nach den Ereignissen des Films angesiedelt ist, wird Sinclair dann wöchentlich Fälle für das FBI lösen. Jake McDorman wird die Hauptrolle in der Serienadaption übernehmen, die Bradley Cooper im Film inne hatte.
Jennifer Carpenter übernimmt die weibliche Hauptrolle und wird als Rebecca zu sehen sein. Rebecca ist eine engagierte Ermittlerin, die dank ihres Talents innerhalb des FBI schnell aufgestiegen ist. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio spielt die FBI-Agentin Nasreen Awad, die Fälle rund um NZT untersucht.
