Joey sa sťahuje z New Yorku do Los Angeles po tom, ako mu jeho zástupca oznámi skvelú novinu. Má pre neho nie jednu, ale hneď dve zaujímavé úlohy v televíznej šou a on si môže vybrať. Nanešťastie program, ktorý si vyberie nemá úspech, a ten, ktorý zavrhne sa stane hitom roka. Stretne sa so svojou sestrou Ginou, ktorá mu zoženie byt. Ginin syn Michael prehovára Joeyho, aby s ním mohol bývať. Ale on s tým nesúhlasí, pretože by tým sestre ublížil. Po dlhom prehováraní Joey prikývne, ale odpoveďou je mu Ginin hnev...
